The Husbands - Curtis O'Reilly, Ward Paterson & Darren Bird

Our husbands' perspectives are a very important chapter in this book. Our marriages began with friendship, love and deciding to have children, because family was important to us.  All six of us were were really unaware of postpartum illnesses and when the reality set-in it shook the foundation of our marriages.  These perspectives are so important for husbands that are struggling right now, to know they are also not alone.  Collectively, we realize we weren't the only parties that suffered through the inner hell and that our husbands often carried the weight of the world on their shoulders.  We believe that it is important for husbands to get support and seek counselling, as well, in order to heal and continue to create a healthy environment for their families and themselves.

Our team could not bring the awareness and understanding to as many families as we have if it wasn't for our husbands' dedication to parenting our children while we travel to speak.  We also want to applaud them for speaking at our events whenever they are able.  They see the value in telling their stories so that others have a safe space to share, too.
